Oman Stopover

This five-day tour of Oman begins with an arrival in Muscat, where a representative assists with airport procedures and transfers the traveler to their hotel for an overnight stay. The second day includes a half-day city tour of Muscat, featuring the Grand Mosque, Bait Al Zubair Museum, Old Muscat with its forts and Al Alam Palace, and the Muttrah Souk, followed by a drive to Nizwa for hotel check-in. Day three involves exploring Nizwa’s Round Tower Fort and Souq, followed by visits to Jabrin Castle, a photo stop at Bahla Fort, a visit to Birkat Al Mauz, and finally an overnight stay in the Wahiba Sands. The fourth day is a journey back to Muscat, with stops in Sur to see the fishermen’s harbor and dhow building yard, a photo stop at Bibi Miriam’s tomb in Qalhat, a visit to Wadi Tiwi, a picnic lunch at the Finns white beaches, and a view of the Bimah Sinkhole, before checking back into a Muscat hotel for the night. The tour concludes on the fifth day with a transfer to Muscat International Airport for departure.

Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrival

Muscat

Upon arrival Muscat International airport on     @      and before immigration Egypt and Beyond travel representative will meet and assist through immigration Look for your name on a sign”. Once you collected your bags and pass through customs will transfer you to hotel for check in and overnight. 

OVERNIGHT: MUSCAT

Day 02

Nizwa

Breakfast at hotel. Afterwards, head to start your half day city tour of Muscat.
Then visit includes Grand Mosque, an architectural monument. Bait Al Zubair Museum, which showcases Omani heritage with a vast collection of antiques, traditional Omani weaponry, jewellery, costumes, domestic utensils and recreated urban and rural environments. The drive through old Muscat, surrounded by steep mountains and flanked by the twin 16th century Jalali and Mirani forts, extends to Al Alam Palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. Stop at Muttrah, the main port area, leads to explore an ancient and colourful souk.
Drive to Nizwa check in your hotel and overnight.

OVERNIGHT: NIZWA – (B)

 

Day 03

Wahiba Sands

After breakfast start a tour of Nizwa, boasts the famous Round Tower Fort, built in the 17th century, and its Souq renowned for its Friday cattle auction, intricately hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers) and ornamental silver jewellery.
Then visit Jabrin Castle, the finest of Oman’s castles built in the late 17th century. The castle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and beautifully executed woodcarvings. Photo stop at Bahla Fort. Drive to Birkat Al Mauz or village of clay. Then drive to Wahiba Sands and Overnight.

Day 04

Muscat

Breakfast, Start your journey back to Muscat. Stop in Sur visit the fishermen’s harbour and witness the fishermen in action. Proceed on to the Dhow building yard. Dhows are traditional Omani wooden fisher boats that are even today, built by hand. Continue via Qalhat where Bibi Miriam’s tomb (photo stop). Drive to Wadi Tiwi. Proceed to the white beaches of Finns and picnic lunch will be served. Also see the Bimah Sinkhole, a natural hole in the round created by a collapsing mountain. The hole is filled with blue-green sea water. Transfer to your hotel in Muscat for check in and overnight.

Day 05

Departure

After breakfast, will transfer to Muscat international airport to fly back home with everlasting memories of the Land of Oman, departure on    @ – (B)
