Highlights of Morocco

This 11-day Moroccan adventure begins and ends in Casablanca, encompassing a diverse exploration of the country’s highlights. The journey includes a guided tour of Casablanca, featuring the impressive Hassan II Mosque, before traveling to Fes, the spiritual heart of Morocco. In Fes, travelers explore the ancient medina, royal palace, tanneries, and potteries, with a day trip to the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes. The itinerary then ventures across the Middle Atlas Mountains to Erfoud, leading to an optional overnight experience in Berber tents in the Sahara Desert via a camel trek. The return journey passes through the Todra Gorges and the Dades Gorges, followed by a visit to the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou en route to Marrakech, the “southern pearl.” Marrakech offers a guided tour of its palaces, tombs, and hidden treasures before the final leg back to Casablanca for departure.

Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrival

Casablanca

Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met and transferred by shuttle bus to your Casablanca hotel. Depending on arrival time, the group will visit the city, including a guided tour to the Hassan II, one of the world’s biggest mosques.

Day 02

Fes

After breakfast, the group will leave by van towards Fes. On route, you will stop at Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King, for a time to enjoy the beautiful coastal city. continue on to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco

Day 03

Fes

After breakfast you will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places we will experience. Afterwards return to your hotel for the evening

Day 04

Fes

After an early breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. The group will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire. Your guide will take you on a bus tour of the imperial city, Meknes. You will return to Fes in the evening.

Day 05

Erfoud

After an early breakfast you will begin your ascent across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend into the Sahara Desert.

Day 06

Sahara Desert

In the afternoon, you will head off in some 4-wheel drive vehicles across the barren land to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will set off by camel for a 2-hour trek out to the oasis where you will spend the night in Berber tents ***this could be optional if you would prefer to return to the hotel to sleep.

Day 07

Dades gorges

After breakfast, you will return by camel to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. From Erfoud you set out behind the High Atlas Mountains on route to the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, you will take a walk up in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. You will spend the night in the Dades gorges.

Day 08

Marrakech

After an early breakfast you set off to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. You will visit one of the jewels of Morocco – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. In typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discovered… usually off the beaten path. Afterwards, you will head over the mountains to Marrakech.

Day 09

Marrakech

After breakfast, the group will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures.

Day 10

Casablanca

Your last day of travel will take you back to Casablanca where you began your voyage 10 days before.

Day 11

Departure

After Breakfast, transfer to the Airport to fly back home with everlasting memories of Land of Morocco departure on…. @….. – (B)
